The challenge
The affordable non-state sector (ANS) plays a critical role in the global education landscape, educating almost 350 million children worldwide. Many of these children are in marginalised communities with minimal access to state education. Despite its impact, the sector receives little to no recognition or support from governments, aid organisations, and major philanthropies.
Our solution
Created a new narrative for the IDP Foundation, highlighting the role of these schools in educating some of the most marginalised children, including girls
Mapped events across the global education and impact investing sectors, identifying new opportunities for IDPF to engage key stakeholders and change the global conversation around the role of the ANS
Created a ‘valuable voices’ database that identified effective messengers for the sector, positioning IDPF as a convenor and facilitator for the ANS
Organised a side event during Education World Forum that brought together the Ministers of Education from Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone facilitated by the UK’s FCDO
Our impact
Refined the Foundation’s core messages and increased its share of voice within the global education landscape, reframing the debate around the role of the ANS and emphasising the importance of an ‘all hands on deck’ approach to achieving SDG 4 by 2030.
