The challenge
Since 2022, we have worked with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) to raise awareness of the Holocaust and where persecution led in Cambodia, Rwanda, Darfur, and Bosnia. During this time, we have supported key national moments, including the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Against a backdrop of record levels of antisemitism in the UK, HMDT’s work has become increasingly urgent, making it essential to increase Holocaust remembrance and education, to counter distortion and denial and identity-based prejudice.
Our solution
Developed a comprehensive communications strategy to position HMDT as the lead organisation promoting the remembrance of the Holocaust across the UK
Delivered annual detailed media plans for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD), securing extensive international, national, and regional coverage, including op-eds and broadcast coverage for HMDT spokespeople, Next Gen Ambassadors, and Holocaust survivors
Refreshed HMDT’s social media, including targeted activity and influencer collaborations around HMD
Led proactive and reactive media engagement, leveraging HMDT spokespeople and impact data
Created a crisis response framework to ensure timely, sensitive, and effective responses to breaking events
Our impact
Achieved significant media coverage across broadcast, print, and digital platforms, and increased engagement and followers on social media, raising awareness of HMDT’s mission and responding to rising levels of antisemitism and prejudice.
