Atalanta and Barboni Strategies announce appointment of creative team

Atalanta, along with sister company Barboni Strategies, is delighted to announce the appointment of Cilena Rojas and Courtney Paynter to lead their in-house creative team. Cilena and Courtney will expand the companies’ exceptional delivery for a growing portfolio of clients which spans over 20 countries and includes UN bodies, global philanthropies, multinational corporations, and political and public policy campaigns.
Cilena brings over a decade of graphic design experience working for organisations including the BBC and the Royal Society for the Arts. Courtney has spent nearly a decade working across the UK and Canada with a focus on digital copywriting to drive engagement and brand identity.

Cilena and Courtney will work across Atalanta and its sister company Barboni Strategies and join at a time of rapid growth for both companies alongside MacKenzie Horn, previously Head of Communications at the European Movement; Elior Doani who joins from a VC focussed on sustainability, AI, and robotics; Gabriela Sarosiek who joins from luxury PR firm The Esperanto; Kayla Jaffe who joins from UM where she worked on the Johnson & Johnson account; and Georgia Beaton who joins from the University of Aberdeen where she worked across the Student Engagement Team.
About Cilena Rojas
Cilena is a graphic designer with over 14 years’ experience providing creative solutions to a range of clients from start-ups to well-known brands such as the BBC and NSPCC. Her core skills lie in developing cohesive brand identity with high-quality design work across print and digital. She previously worked as part of the creative team at Playne Design, a communications studio, before becoming a full-time freelance designer in 2010.
Cilena has experience seeing projects through from concept and strategy phase right through to final delivery, whether that be creating a full brand identity, editorial design, report design, event signage, or liaising with web developers on final website designs. She prides herself on delivering high-quality, on-brand design solutions that can communicate complex information in a meaningful way to audiences. Cilena joined in September 2021 having worked closely with the team as a freelancer for the previous four years.
About Courtney Paynter
After graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Philosophy and English Literature (MA), Courtney started her career in copywriting and communications in London. Courtney has a wealth of B2B and B2C copywriting experience spanning strategic communications, consumer PR, and digital campaigns.
In 2019, Courtney moved to Toronto, Canada. After completing a summer contract in York University’s editorial department, she then joined a digital publisher in Downtown Toronto to support their ecommerce department across all aspects of editorial copywriting. On moving back to London, Courtney joined a global recruitment group to help them integrate the brand identities of multiple companies across a merger. She joined in September 2021 as a Copywriter.
