Speaking on KSRO Radio, Atalanta Founder & CEO Eva Barboni discussed the gendered nature of online abuse targeting women politicians, and how it is often aimed at attacking their credibility as leaders.
Citing Atalanta’s recent report, released in partnership with BrandsEye, Eva shared insights about the nature of this online abuse:
Women faced a lot more comments specifically about their appearance and their marital status, much more commentary on their personal life, accusations about what they’re wearing, and whether it’s appropriate for the job. Whereas men were largely spared of those comments.
